All rods must be in possession of a valid E.A. rod licence.
Catch limit 4 trout in good condition at least 12 inches long.
Any fish under 12 inches to be returned to the water.
Diseased trout to be removed and reported to the river keeper.
Dry Fly only, nymphs not encouraged, upstream fishing only.
Dogs must be kept under control at all times.
Please do not leave any litter, shut all gates and avoid any damage to the agricultural interests of the Estate.
The River Keeper will show you the water, but will then be busy on his other Estate duties.
The catch card must be completed and placed in one of the boxes provided even if no fish have been caught.
The Owner, Agent, and Keepers are not liable for any damage or injury by or to any person fishing on the Wherwell Estate or accompanying any person fishing, caused in any manner whatsoever. All persons taking a rod on the water are wholly liable for any damage or injury to themselves or third parties caused or received in the course of their activities connected with this fishing.
Anyone found contravening these rules, fishing in an unfair or unsportsmanlike manner, or taking more than the permitted limit of fish, will be ordered from the water and will forfeit his/her Fishing Permit without refund.
There will be no refund for drought or any other Act of God which adversely affects the fishing.
Tackle, property or clothing left on the river bank or in the hut is the responsibility of the owner thereof.
The Estate has no responsibility for damage to vehicles belonging to fishermen or those accompanying them, however caused.
